Summary: The Stars and Bars 50 kicked off Series 17 on Sunday, June 11th. Rebkart welcomed newcomer Stuart Earp as he piloted the #82 Havoline Ford from Tiger Racing. Winners circle did not have a newcomer however, as Craig Garris continues to have success with the Motorcraft Ford winning the pole and the race. Garris tested Earp's kart which had new Mishue Motorsports power and set what would have been a track qualifying record with a lap of 7.50 seconds. Garris' own kart for the race turned a 7.57 second lap. Jamie Prevette wasted no time in coming from fourth to first and was holding off Jerry Garris in a good race. Keith Church and Earp ran side by side several laps before things straightend out and Craig Garris picked off the other karts one at a time to take over the lead. Prevette was an easy second, while Church had to race Jerry Garris before claiming third. Jerry finished fourth and Earp fifth.

Summary: Six karts started the second race of Series 17, the Garris Motorsport Clash, with a good
crowd on hand for Rebkart's first evening race in years. Craig Garris claimed the
pole with a 7.55 lap with the #21 Motorcraft Ford. 30 laps made up the first segment
and Jerry Garris got away clean for a big lead and held on for about 12 laps when
Craig Garris took over. Jamie Prevette moved to second when Jerry's engine broke
a valve ending his day. Keith Church ran third, Stuart Earp fourth. Shortly after
Jerry went to the pits Wesley Harrold did also with a finicky engine (that was borrowed
from Tiger Racing). The field was inverted from the 30 lap finish for a 20 lap segment.
This race was very competitive with rookie Stuart Earp running a great race with a huge
lead that could not be overcome. Earp took the first checkered flag in his career,
with Craig Garris second, Jamie Prevette, Keith Church and Wesley Harrold rounding
out the segment. Up next was the 10 lap shootout to determine the race winner and
Church was on the pole. On lap 2, Craig Garris got inside Church and a lot of contact
resulted in the next corner with Garris going into the grass on the inside and then
Church in the grass on the backstretch. Church lost his chain when this happened and
resulted in a tough-luck fourth place finish for the Church Family Practice Chevrolet.
Jamie Prevette took advantage and finished second. Stuart Earp had his own chain issues,
but finished third in his second career start. Attrition softened the intensity of the
race, but was a great one nonetheless. Prior to the racing, Craig Garris was clocked
at 7.40 seconds while driving the #82 Havoline Ford which would have shattered the
track qualifying record.
Summary: Odds were stacked against Garris Motorsport's two drivers in the Mishue Motorsport 50 as Craig Garris
of Tiger Racing had won a record 10 straight races and his teammate Keith Church drove the #21 kart which
was responsible for 8 of those wins. But, Jerry and Chris Garris of Garris Motorsport ended up in a tooth
and nail battle for the win swapping the lead several times injecting some drama into Rebkart by ending
Craig's streak. Craig took the pole and went straight to the lead in the first 10 laps and pulled away
to a big lead and appeared on his way to 11 in a row when his #82 slowed. One lap later the engine
seized and ended his day. Behind him Keith was heavily pressured by Jerry and Chris when Church lost
the spot and the previously invincible Motorcraft Ford began slowing and sputtering from a fouled plug.
Chris took the lead and held it for several laps, but was followed closely by Jerry who took the spot
through skillful driving. Chris used the bump and run at least 2 or 3 times to take the lead and Jerry
returned the favor. Chris turned him sideways in turn 4 and then hit him again to straighten him out.
They raced side by side and Jerry eventually prevailed to take his 6th win to move into sole possession
of 5th position in Rebkart's All Time Wins list. Garris Motorsport finished 1st and 2nd, Keith Church
was third and Craig Garris fourth. Rebkart regulars Wesley Harrold, Jamie Prevette and Stuart Earp did not race.

POLE WINNER---21-Craig Garris 7.53 seconds (New Record)
Summary: The most karts to ever show up for a concrete race at Traphill Speedway was witnessed for the running of the
Interstate HVAC 50 with 10 karts. Joe West returned and four Harrold Racing karts made plans to start a
second division for stock racers that will be known as Naskarts. In the Rebkart event, Craig Garris returned
to the #21 after losing an engine in the last race with #82, and set a new track qualifying record at 7.53 seconds.
This time paled in comparison to a 7.40 lap in practice with #82 and its new engine. Keith Church led early
followed by Jerry, Craig, and Chris Garris with Stuart Earp, Joe West and Wesley Harrold close behind.
Chris briefly took third from Craig before he put the hammer down and went from fourth to the lead in a few laps.
Chris followed until his engine didn't just blow up, it exploded with both sides of the block breaking open
and almost taking the head off. Jerry Garris tried, but couldn't hold second with Keith Church securing the
runner-up spot. Joe West was undergeared, but still came home fourth. Wesley Harrold was fifth, and Stuart Earp
finished sixth when he ran out of fuel and seventh was Chris Garris.

Summary: One race after the most karts to start a Traphill Speedway race, the fewest karts started a race with only two
karts able to run the NiteWatch 50. Keith and Jamie swapped the lead a couple of times before Keith began to pull
away to secure his first ever win. Congratulations Keith! Craig Garris broke his carburetor in practice and did
not start.

Summary: Cool and overcast conditions proved to be ideal for the fastest qualifying laps ever as four karts shattered the previous qualifying record which was 7.53 seconds. Jamie Prevette and Chris Garris each ran 7.45 laps to tie for the new record. Keith Church ran 7.48 and Craig Garris 7.49. The race saw two rookies start their first race with Joel Baker and Brock Dowell driving the #82 and #17 respectively. Craig fouled a plug during the parade laps and lost 23 laps before joining the event. Jerry Garris led early until Keith Church took over followed closely by Chris and Jamie. Chris spun out avoiding Dowell and a flagging error almost cost him a lap. Jamie was unable to make a run on Keith and on lap 34 his clutch came off ending his day. On lap 36, Chris almost had the inside position on Keith, but couldn't quite make the pass. Chris was trying to regroup when Craig got inside of him and slowed his momentum causing Chris to lose a couple kart lengths. Craig was many laps down and should have left the two leaders alone. On lap 43 Chris'chain broke ending a great run. He only lost one position though as only Jerry Garris remained on the lead lap to finish second to the Church Family Practice Chevy and Keith Church who claimed his second win. Joel and Brock had decent runs as this were their first foray into Rebkart.

Summary: Chris Garris won the pole in the 2003 Rebel Clash and repeated the feat three years later with a 7.61 second lap.
At the start of the 2006 Rebel Clash, Chris and Jerry got together and Chris lost a lot of time. He recovered and
worked his way to second. Craig was leading comfortably when Jerry spun in turn four for the first of two
spins in the same spot. On the next restart, Craig went high in turns one and two, Chris went to the inside along
with Keith and contact resulted in Chris losing his chain. He repaired it and continued. Keith also had a broken
chain that was repaired under a red flag. On the final restart, Keith led Craig with Chris third and then Jerry.
Five laps later Craig passed Keith with a move off turn four with about 7 laps to go in the race. When Craig made
the pass, Chris followed and claimed second. Keith was third and Jerry fourth.
Craig Garris took his 8th championship in Series 17 and won his 15th race in his last 17 starts.
The Rebel Clash was his 60th win in 158 starts. Keith Church and Garris comprise Tiger Racing and took the first
two positions in the point standings. Church takes "Rookie of the Series" honors and scored two wins. Jerry
Garris was the only other driver to capture a victory in Series 17. He finished fourth in points behind Jamie
Prevette. Jamie had three second place finishes. Chris Garris rounds out the top 5 in points and looks to be a
regular competitor in Series 18 in his quest for another championship.
