4. 80-Jerry Garris 8.31 4. Craig Garris 30
5. 23-Ben Harbour No Time 5. Jamie Prevette 25

Summary: Craig set a new track record with a 7.97 lap; Timmy and Jerry made inprovements in their qualifying and were only .01 seconds apart.

Craig assumed the initial lead; Ben spun in turn 3; Jamie passed Craig for the lead; the race re-started and Jerry passed Timmy in turn 1 and Craig began to stretch his lead; Jamie hit the backstretch wall and warped his drive axle and was finished for the race.

Craig easily led the race for several laps, but had to park the 82 kart after his engine locked and ended his efforts for a winning day. Timmy was able to get around Jerry and Ben began to get a handle on the 23 kart and a sprint to the finish was developing

Timmy was leading out of turn 4; he hit the wall; Jerry took advantage of the inside lane; went into turn 3 too fast, Timmy lifted, Jerry spun off of the track, Timmy passed him by with a slide job; Jerry returned to the track only about 4 kart lenghts down. Timmy's throttle began to malfunction and brought out a caution. On the re-start, Jerry's kart had noticeabley slowed, (burnt clutch), but held the inside groove with Timmy using his front bumper trying to pass the slowing 80 kart. Finally, on the white flag lap, Timmy was able to get the 80 kart out of the groove and won his first Rebkart race.

Congratulations to Timmy on his first win

Also, Ben Harbour returned to Rebkart and posted a very respectable 3rd place with his first ever attempt on the concrete track.

Race 2
July 26, 2003
Traphill Motor Speedway

Driver Qualifying Finish Points
1. 19-Lonnie Harrold 7.63* 1. Jamie Prevette 50
2. 3-Jamie Prevette 7.73 2. Lonnie Harrold 40
3. 82-Craig Garris 7.89 3. Timmy Prevette 35
4. 8-Timmy Prevette 7.92 4. Jerry Garris 30
5. 80-Jerry Garris 8.18 5. Craig Garris 25

Summary: Lonnie returns to Rebkart and blisters the track with a new qualifying record of 7.63. Qualifying pressure has definitely been turned up a notch or two as the next 3 qualifiers also beat the old track record.

Lonnie set an initial torrid pace and had almost a straightway lead; Jamie got freight-trained on the start as Craig and Timmy passed him in turn 1. Jerry's chain came off and created a caution; Jamie eventually passed Lonnie for the lead.

Timmy has improved the #8 kart as he was able to compete for the win for the entire race.

Craig's engine locks up for the second consecutive race; Jamie spins in turn 1 and loses the lead; Jerry is down on power (Craig's backup engine) and is lapped; Jamie gets by Lonnie and assumes the lead; Lonnie makes several more attempts to pass Jamie, but is unable to do so and Jamie squeaks by with another victory.

5. 80-Jerry Garris 8.31 5. Craig Garris 25
5. 23-Ben Harbour 8.94 5. Ben Harbour 20
Summary: Rebkart action continued with 3 drivers going for the lead, with more than one change per lap. Chris Garris returned for his first race since March and swapped the lead with Jamie Prevette and Timmy Prevette in great action.
On lap 1 Ben got into Jerry's side; the #80 went off of the track, nearly hit a steel pole head-on, came back onto the track and causing water and mud to splash onto turn 1. The next few laps the karts were-a-slipping-and-a-sliding.
Ben Harbour debuted the new #29, a Brand X kart, and was doing well until a broken drive wheel ended a good run.
Last series champion, Craig Garris continues his woes as a bearing failed while leading the race and then the spark plug wire came off enroute to a fifth place finish. Timmy was third continuing a great rookie series while Jerry overcame a problem to finish fourth.
Jamie Prevette continues to dominate as his #3 survived the slam bang action, usually involving Chris and Timmy as all 3karts tried to run 2 and 3 wide.

Race 4

Driver Qualifying Finish Points
1. 3-Jamie Prevette 7.73 1. Craig Garris 50

4. 80-Jerry Garris 8.01 4. Timmy Prevette 30
5. 23-Ben Harbour 8.63 5. Ben Harbour 25
Summary: Jamie qualified the #3 kart and in a surprise move, Richard Dillard, a 2-time champion, took over the driving duties for the race.
On the start, Richard spins in turn 1 and Craig assumes the lead; Timmy and Jerry also get caught in the wreck.
On the re-start, Craig takes a commanding lead and eventually adds another win to his resume.
Richard finishes a strong second; Timmy or Jerry could not make a challenge and finished respectively.
Ben was underpowered in Craig's backup kart, but continues to improve his driving ability.

Race 5

Traphill Motor Speedway

Driver Qualifying Finish Points
1. 3-Jamie Prevette 7.62* 1. Jamie Prevette 50
2. 82-Craig Garris 7.78 2. Timmy Prevette 40
3. 8-Timmy Prevette 7.81 3. Craig Garris 35
4. 13-Rick Monroe 8.30 4. Rick Monroe 30

Summary: Jamie Prevette ran a new record of 7.62 seconds in qualifying to best Lonnie Harrold's record by one hundredth of a second. He continued the domination by leading all 50 laps in the race. Craig ran second (mostly on two wheels in turn 3/4) until scraping the wall allowing Timmy to get by. The race for second resulted in Craig spinning after contact with Timmy and going a lap down. The action continued with both karts having two more spins and each losing a lap. Rick Monroe overcame multiple pre-race problems only to have them resurface about 10 laps in to sideline the Misused Motors Ford.

Traphill Motor Speedway

Driver Qualifying Finish Points
1. 80-Jerry Garris 7.74 1. Jerry Garris 50
2. 3-Jamie Prevette 7.81 2. Jamie Prevette 40
3. 82-Craig Garris 7.86 3. Timmy Prevette 35
4. 8-Timmy Prevette 8.00 4. Craig Garris 30

Summary: Jerry shocked Rebkart by winning his first pole postion in several years. He apparently has gained about .3 seconds in lap speed. And to prove that the pole was not a fluke, Jerry surprised everyone by leading the first 20-some laps with a straightway lead. He finished the race by leading 49 of 50 laps.
Jamie spun his kart going into turn 1; Jerry collides with the #3 kart and straigthens it and keeps Jamie from going a lap down.
On a re-start, Craig gets a good run on Jerry; bumps Jerry in turn 1; completes the pass in turn 4; Jerry diamonds turn 1 and gets beside Craig going into turn 3; Craig doesn't lift and spins in turn 4 and goes a lap down.
As the laps wind down, Jamie begins to gain on Jerry and tries several times to pass; Jerry spins in turn 4; Jamie collides with #80 kart and straigthens it; Craig bangs into Jamie; Timmy hits Craig; all 3 karts wreck with Jamie going into the infield.
On the re-start, Jamie stays with Jerry, but is unable to get along-side; but on the white flag lap and in the final turn, Jamie pulls alongside and both karts drag race to the finish line. No one could determine who won; Jerry gave it to Jamie; Jamie was unsure; the flagman couldn't make the call. The closest finish in Rebkart history.
Upon video review, it was determined that the flagman made a scoring error and Jerry was awarded the victory. His first victory in several years.

Race 7
October 4, 2003
Traphill Motor Speedway

Driver Qualifying Finish Points
1. 3-Jamie Prevette 7.61* 1. Timmy Prevette 50
2. 80-Jerry Garris 7.87 2. Craig Garris 40
3. 82-Craig Garris 7.97 3. Jerry Garris 35
4. 8-Timmy Prevette 8.01 4. Jamie Prevette 30

Summary: Race 7 was a race of attrition as every kart has mechanical trouble; even Timmy, the race winner.
Jamie sets a new track record; but that was his high point of the race. On lap 2 he breaks a drive wheel, loses control entering turn 1 and is setting sideways on the track; Jerry, who has just passed Craig in turn 4, is going wide-open and could not slow; clobbers Jamie in the side, lifts Jamie and his kart about a foot off of the track, breaks Jamie's right side rear assembly and ends Jamie's day.
Jerry also has damage to his kart, bent steering support brace, and also contributed to eventual motor mount breaking and ending his day also.
Jerry, Craig and Timmy swapped the lead a couple of times, but the motor mount problem eventually side-lined Jerry. Craig tried to mount a challenge to Timmy, but carb bolt problems, handling and assorted problems ended Craig's day also.
Timmy was also having carb problems, but was able to complete a few more laps than Craig and was declared the winner, by default.
All in all, a very exciting; but shorten race.

Race 8
October 18, 2003
Traphill Motor Speedway

Driver Qualifying Finish Points
1. 23-Craig Garris 7.86 1. Craig Garris 50
2. 80-Jerry Garris 7.96 2. Jerry Garris 40
3. 8-Timmy Prevette 8.05 3. Timmy Prevette 35

Summary: Craig debuts his new kart, #23, with a pole and another Rebkart win. (The #29 Kart of Jamie's).
The race was a small field, but was big on effort as Timmy, Craig and Jerry had to do fix breakdowns to start the race. Craig broke a timing key during hot laps; Timmy's engine wouldn't run; Jerry had chain and sprocket trouble.
Eventually, the race started and Craig dominated and led 50 laps in the M & M's #23 kart that was also superior to his #82 kart.
Jerry had second, but his engine began losing power and Timmy was closing, but the checkered fell before Timmy could catch the ailing #80 kart. On the cool down lap the 80 kart's motor finally seized completely and stopped. (crank seizure).
Craig had a good points day and Timmy only lost 15 points.

Race 9

Traphill Motor Speedway

Driver Qualifying Finish Points

2. 6-Chris Garris 7.72 2. Craig Garris 40
3. 8-Timmy Prevette 7.82 3. Timmy Prevette 35
4. 80-Jerry Garris 7.82 4. Jerry Garris 30
5. 13-Rick Monroe 8.56 5. Rick Monroe 25
Summary:

Another exciting Rebkart race saw Chris Garris return to victory lane after a long absence.

Craig Garris had a 1/2 track lead when the right rear wheel locked up forcing him to finish the race on three wheels, but was still good enough to take second place.

Chris won easily, Timmy was third. Jerry looked good, but a early wreck retired the Rebkart.Com Ford with steering problems. Rick Monroe ran Chris' engine, but retired early also with steering trouble.

The points race is tight between Craig and Timmy and will come down to the last race on November 15th.

Summary:

The Rebel Clash was supposed to be the last race of Series 14; full of great racing and excitement, but instead not a single lap was run.

The #8 team alleged that they would not be raced fairly, that he would have tires cut-down, that Craig cheated in the last race by racing and beating him on 3 wheels, etc.

Everyone staged their karts at the staging area; the #8 team continued their tirade about qualifying and the line-up; finally, everyone had had their fill of the complaints and left the staging area. He was advised that "he had won" and the "Championship was his". The race was cancelled.

It is clear though among the drivers present that Prevette will not be raced with again. He is, therefore, suspended indefinitely from all Rebkart races and events.

An unfortunate ending to an otherwise competitive inaugural series at the new Traphill Speedway. Before the race was cancelled, Chris Garris took the pole with a lap of 7.84 seconds.

Stay tuned for information on the future of Rebkart.

Series 15 is scheduled for the spring of 2004.
