The first race under the lights at the speedway. 94-Jerry was in the lead for the third straight time and his engine quit running after three laps; 82-Craig and 101-Jesse swapped second place seven times with close side-by-side racing; 82-Craig broke his right rear axle; 6-Chris, running his big motor, cruised to another win; 32-Jesse Broyhill, 12 years old and making his debut, drove his kart to a third place finish.

Craig gets an initial huge lead; Chris attempts to pass Danny on the inside and runs him off of the track causing the first caution; Chris and Craig run 9 laps side-by-side, swapping the lead; Danny, Jerry and Jesse swap paint for several laps; Jerry breaks a drive axle and continues his string of DNF's; Chris passes Jesse on the restart and is gaining on Craig when his drive wheel breaks (probably caused by loose lead weights) on the white flag lap; Craig wins for the second time.

Chris started 2nd and led the whole race, but was followed very closely by Craig. Jamie spun at the green flag for the first caution. Craig hounded Chris as Jerry ran third, Jesse then Jamie. Jerry spun out by himself in turn 2 for the 2nd caution. Craig tried for the lead, but the slick track hampered his efforts and two laps later he suffered engine trouble (clutch). Jerry had his 7th DNF out of 8 races (loosened rod bolt). Jesse never was a factor, but Jamie stayed close to Chris, but unable to make a run as Chris is closing in on his 2nd championship

Chris dominates the early portion of the race while Danny holds off Jesse and Tommy. Craig fails to start the race; the 2nd time in his career. His engine would not start. Chris is unable to run slow under caution and stops running and cannot get it refired. Jerry has his 7th engine failure this season and Jesse runs out of fuel. Tommy wears Danny down and passes him with 5 laps to go to get his first win in his first start.

---Craig leads all 50 laps and is challenged only twice, once by Jamie, once by Jesse. A backup engine loaned by Chris G. proves to be the key to victory. Jerry has engine trouble prior to the start and has his 8th DNS/DNF. Jesse and Jamie run well and so does Joey in his first race on the old #92. Jamie drops out on lap 49 with a valvespring problem. Chris Rhodes has handling problems, but the engine is strong. Jesse has fuel problems. The season champion (Chris Garris) lasts two laps after he breaks the drive wheel, the second occurrence this season.
